Nintendo Switch Is Getting Save Data Cloud Backups & More
Nintendo’s online service is currently free to use and really has nothing to offer aside from playing games online. There is however a paid service, which is expected to launch September 2018 with new features included. Some of the new features mentioned so far is cloud saves and a compilation of classic NES games, the collection will start with 20 games to choose from, with more to be added later on.
Membership cost in US:
One month: $3.99
Three months: $7.99
12 months: $19.99
Family membership (12 months): $34.99
The family membership will allow eight Nintendo account holders to use the Nintendo Switch online services, even on different systems. Which is a very good deal.
Nintendo Entertainment System:
Nintendo Switch online subscribers will be given access to 20 NES to play, with more games to be added regularly. Nintendo has yet to announce whether other consoles games will be made available later on, such as the N64. Subscribers will be given the option to play the games online or offline and depending on the game, players can engage in online competitive or co-op multiplayer, every classic NES title will support voice chat via the Nintendo Switch online smartphone app. (sadly at this time it would appear as though Nintendo still has no plans to fix the voice chat system).
See 10 NES games that will be made available below:
- Mario Bros
- Super Mario Bros
- Super Mario Bros 3
- The Legend Of Zelda
- Donkey Kong
- Dr Mario
- Balloon Fight
- Ice Climber
Save Date Cloud Backup: Subscribers to the Nintendo Switch online service will have the option to save game files online as a backup, which will help prevent players from losing all there saved game files if something were to happen to their Switch. You will not have to worry about losing 100+ hours of gameplay soon enough! ( I personally feel as though this should be made available now)
What are your thoughts on the paid membership?
