Nintendo Switch Sales Doubled At GameStop during E3 Week
This years E3 was a rather big disappointment for many Nintendo fans. Nintendo mainly focused on Super Smash Bros Ultimate for the Switch – so much so that it annoyed a lot of viewers, Nintendo’s stocks even dropped as investors were concerned about Nintendo’s line-up of games. One thing that many forget about is Nintendo has Directs, which is where they tend to show up and coming games. Nintendo is well known for not showing everything during E3.
Putting all that aside, it is rather ironic that the Nintendo Switch sales doubled at GameStop during E3, maybe Nintendo’s E3 wasn’t as bad as people thought. GameStop VP of merchandising Eric Bright mentioned to GamesIndustry that Switch sales doubled during E3 week. Titles like Smash Bros. Ultimate had a big part to play in the sales.
Nothing beats Nintendo’s overall announcements. Super Smash Bros is jumping right up to the top of the [pre-order] list. We’re also seeing great reaction from Pokémon Let’s Go, both SKUs, and then of course people are trying to get their hands on the Pokéball [controller] as well.
Let’s all not forget, There are Nintendo Directs yet to come this year, so more games will be showcased in the near future.
