Nintendo Switch Dock With Built-In Ethernet Port Available February 23,2018
Japanese company [Cyber Gadget] has made a new third-party Nintendo Switch dock called [Cyber Lan], and it will have a built-in Ethernet port, the dock will also include the same functionalities that the original Nintendo Switch dock had, such as: Two USB 2.0 ports, a single USB 3.0 port, HDMI and the USB Type-C port. As a bonus, the dock is much smaller than the Nintendo Switch’s original dock, as you can see from the picture – you do not have to worry about scratching your Switch screen. Your system might even stay cooler, since it will not be enclosed. It would also appear that you may be able to use this dock in table mode, simply by disconnecting the HDMI from the dock.
This is a huge step forward, previously the only option available to play Nintendo Switch games online using an Ethernet connection, was by purchasing a LAN adapter – which can be connected to one of the USB ports on the Nintendo Switch dock – such adapters can be found on sites like Amazon. There seems to be a better option available now, so it may be best to save your money.
Playing games online using Wi-Fi is never a good option – you can do so if necessary, however your experience will never be as smooth as a wired connection, a wired connection will always offer the most consistent and reliable online experience you can get – It all comes down to latency. One of the biggest downsides to the Nintendo Switch is the lack of an Ethernet Port, Nintendo has never added Ethernet ports to any of their consoles in the past, so it comes at no surprise that the Nintendo Switch Dock does not have such a feature. At least we can get it elsewhere until Nintendo starts giving it to us.
Hopefully this product will become more readily available in the months to come. You can check out the full details of the product Here
